Made by You!

I've been getting a lot of emails from teachers and parents who are trying out some of my crafts.  It's so great to see what everybody is doing.  I just got an email from Marta, who is a teacher in Spain.  She told me her students just made design trees!  This was probably the most difficult toy I've ever made, and these kids are cranking them out.  Very impressive!



Also, here are some very fancy dress-up drawings from over at vlijtig.

And this is cool.  Slotted Building Discs put onto an Urban Outfitters Mobile from Draußen nur Kännchen!

Finally, some very nice finger puppets from passelig dose in Norway.

So thank you everybody. It would be great to see more of what you're doing. I'm going to start organizing some links on the right, under "Made by You" if that's ok with everyone. So keep me posted!

Update:  It was suggested that I start a flickr photo pool where people can upload photos of their Made by Joel inspired crafts.  I'm a flickr novice, but I think I set it up.  Here is the link.

    Here's a great example of a photo pool that I followed all of February for Celebrate the Boy - it was a fun month of projects shared on these two blogs: http://madebyrae.blogspot.com/ and this one http://www.dana-made-it.com/
    Check out http://madebyrae.blogspot.com/ specifically - both her sidebars have flickr pool that tied in with the month's theme and I think would lend itself well to what you're doing on your blog, to inspire people to contribute and share!

    Just discovered your blog. Thanks. I was wondering if I was the only dad that blogged. I was starting to wonder about myself. ha ha.

    Great blog. Very creative. Something I am trying to nurture in myself right now.

    By the way, I am in PDX as well. I have to say I love this time of year when the trees start to come back to life and the blue sky reappears for days instead of moments.

    This is amazing.....all your stuff is so inspirational. It's fun to see what everyone is coming up with!

    I've been plotting trying several of these out over the weekend with my lil 5 year old Wolfie. I think he and I will be skipping the magical design trees for now....the lil dress up drawings are more my speeeeed!

    Jen, those are brilliant dress-up drawings!! Wow, you guys are great fashion designers! I love the blue shoes, and also the fringe on the bottom of the green dress. Awesome!
